Rhino Health has initiated a pilot project with the pancreatic cancer working group of the Early Detection Research Network (EDRN) to enhance cross-institution collaboration for pancreatic cancer detection. By employing federated learning, the project allows multiple institutions to train AI models on their local data without the need to share sensitive patient information. This approach aims to accelerate the diagnosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) by utilizing multi-modal data, including CT scans and laboratory results, thereby facilitating earlier detection and more precise treatment strategies. Participating institutions include Johns Hopkins Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
