Today, we're announcing Rhino’s oversubscribed $15M Series A financing - led by AlleyCorp, with participation from LionBird, Fusion Fund, Arkin Digital Health, Qiming Venture Partners USA, TELUS Global Ventures, Wilson’s Bird Capital and Keren Maccabi. It’s a milestone we’re proud of, which positions us to continue to lead this category. More than that, it’s a moment to reflect on what we’ve built, why it matters, and where we’re going next.

Rhino was founded on the heels of the EXAM study, a landmark multi-institutional effort that proved the feasibility and value of Federated Learning in real-world clinical environments. Published in Nature Medicine in September 2021, it demonstrated that AI models can be trained across institutions without ever moving the data. That insight sparked a broader realization: if the majority of the world’s data lives in regulated industries - healthcare, pharma, finance - and if those industries can’t centralize their data due to regulation, privacy concerns, cyber-risk, and operational constraints, then maybe it’s time to flip the paradigm entirely.

That’s how we started building something bigger: Federated Computing.

Over the last four years, we’ve worked relentlessly to define and deliver this new architecture—a seamless, enterprise-grade computing layer that allows AI and analytics to be executed across distributed environments without moving data. We began this journey in collaboration with NVIDIA, and have since expanded our platform into a multi-cloud, hybrid system that integrates deeply into regulated enterprise IT ecosystems. Centralized orchestration. Edge execution. Federated Learning and analytics aggregation.

We’ve been proud to develop and validate this stack with some of the world’s most trusted organizations - including the majority of Newsweek’s top 20 digital hospitals, majority of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies, and financial institutions that turn over the global GDP every few days. And we’ve learned something striking: every meaningful federated use-case we engage in, is societally beneficial.

We're already seeing this come to life:

We are also expanding to insurance and other regulated sectors where sensitive data is abundant and collaboration is critical.

We’ve crossed a major technical and operational milestone: 100+ active edge nodes—connecting data centers, virtual private clouds, and secure environments around the world. And we’ve seen tremendous enthusiasm from leaders in AI and cloud infrastructure, who are supporting both same-cloud and multi-cloud federation, recognizing the real-world constraints on data sharing and helping us achieve deep integration into the infrastructure powering the majority of global cloud compute workloads.

An engineering executive at one of our large tech collaborators put it best:

“Rhino has a much bigger vision - Federated Learning is just a small (but important) part of it.”

We agree.

We are committed to enabling organizations of all sizes - not just big tech - to collaborate safely, build responsibly, and unlock value from data that was previously trapped by borders, bureaucracy, or risk. A federated future is a better future: one with less friction, less waste, fewer middlemen, and more innovation where it counts.

With this new round of capital, Rhino becomes the most well-funded and mature Federated Computing company in the world. We’ll use this funding to:

  • Accelerate our go-to-market across regulated industries
  • Expand our ecosystem of collaborators and stakeholders
  • Broaden our support for federated AI use-cases
  • Continue investing in privacy-preserving, AI-native infrastructure

To our investors, customers, team, and community—thank you. Your belief in this vision has brought us to the edge of something transformational.

We’re just getting started.

Stay tuned - more announcements are coming soon.
